practice makes perfect?

Practice does not make perfect. "Perfect practice" makes perfect. Muscle memory is developed through repetition. If you continuously practice a technique in a sloppy or incorrect manner, you will develop your muscle memory in such a manner. That is why it is so important to practice under the supervision of a qualified instructor. The instructor can see the poor technique and help you correct it before it becomes bad habit.
