2009 MA Supershow

The 2009 Martial Arts Supershow was great. We got to interact with many martial arts legends such as Ernie Reyes Sr., Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Jimmy Pedro, and more. The seminars were very educational. Tony Robbins did a seminar that was inspirational. He is a super high energy guy.

practice makes perfect?

Practice does not make perfect. "Perfect practice" makes perfect. Muscle memory is developed through repetition. If you continuously practice a technique in a sloppy or incorrect manner, you will develop your muscle memory in such a manner. That is why it is so important to practice under the supervision of a qualified instructor. The instructor can see the poor technique and help you correct it before it becomes bad habit. Train smart...See you at the dojo.

Dynamic MMA will be closed on July 6th, 7th, and 8th.

I will be attending the Martial Arts Supershow this weekend in Las Vegas. At the event I intend to continue educating myself on the business end of running a quality dojo. I also intend to introduce Hadaka Judo to some other martial arts enthusiasts.

I will try to post blogs while there at the show.

This is a video clip from our dojo. It shows how to go from bottom side mount to juji-gatame by using the ude-garami and also how to counter the sit-up ude-garami with juji-gatame. Enjoy.

Introduction

I have been a student of martial arts since 1982. I have been instructing since 1994 and have been a martial arts school owner since 2002.

Hadaka Judo is the art of Judo performed without the use of the Judogi (traditional Judo uniform). Literally the name means, "Naked Gentle Way". However, the word "naked" in this case refers to "without the use of the Gi" as in the Judo technique, hadaka-jime, or "naked strangle".

Hadaka Judo is a useful tool in submission grappling, mixed martial arts, and self defense applications.

In this blog series, I will post useful tips and tricks for the perfomance of Judo without the Gi. If you have any questions, contact me at hadakajudo@gmail.com
